For the first time in 11 years, the world has been blessed with the presence of Rush. The band are currently on their first tour of the decade, and it’s marking some uncharted ground for them. In 2020, the world lost the band’s drummer Neil Peart. He was a phenomenal talent, and one of the best to ever do it.
There was always a big question looming over the band’s future without Peart, as he was a near irreplicable talent. His death hung heavy on the group, and seemed to be an impossible obstacle. However, with this new tour the band have found drummer Anika Nilles, and with her they seem to have found joy again as well.
In a new clip from their tour, fans have been captivated by how happy and youthful the band seems, delighting everyone with a love of playing we haven’t seen in a long time.
In the video, you can see members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson absolutely loving their jobs. Lee’s massive grin is infectious, and speaks to the rejuvenation the band are experiencing in the wake of such a tragedy. There’s no doubt that Nilles’ presence has been a massive shot in the arm for the group, allowing them to turn back the clock and look like the rock gods of old.
Fans were absolutely blown away by not only how happy the band is, but how energized they are too. Taking to the comments, they shared their disbelief.
“I can’t remember seeing Geddy so happy!!👍👍👍👍”

“Alex and Geddy look so happy in these clips. I’m so glad they did this.”
“I can’t skip ANY TikTok I see because I’m just floored that they’re this tight at their age. Absolutely incredible… they’re “lights out!!”🤘🤘🤘”
It’s an absolute privilege to have Rush back doing what they do best: absolutely melting audience’s faces with virtuoso playing, and making an absolute party out of it. Here’s to a successful tour that doesn’t stop anytime soon!
