Maria Bartiromo’s longtime run at Fox News has come to a sudden end.
Fox News Media announced on Thursday, Sept. 3, that the veteran journalist is no longer with the company after more than 12 years at the network. The announcement came without a reason for her departure, immediately raising questions among viewers who had followed Bartiromo throughout her years on Fox Business Network and Fox News.
According to the company, Fox News is officially “parting ways” with Bartiromo, with the change taking effect immediately.
“We thank Maria for her work over the last 12½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter,” Fox News Media said in a statement.
The abrupt announcement marks the end of a major chapter for one of the most recognizable financial and political television personalities in the United States.
Bartiromo last appeared on Fox Business Network on Aug. 7 and on Fox News on Aug. 9. Now, just weeks later, the network has confirmed that her time at Fox has officially come to an end.

A Sudden Change With No Explanation
What makes the announcement particularly striking is that Fox News Media did not provide a reason for Bartiromo’s exit.
The network simply confirmed that it had parted ways with the longtime anchor and that the decision was effective immediately. That leaves viewers with few details about what led to the unexpected change.
Bartiromo had been closely associated with Mornings with Maria, her Fox Business Network program, which became a familiar part of the network’s weekday lineup.
But beginning Friday, Sept. 4, the program will undergo a major transformation.
Mornings with Maria will become Mornings with FOX Business, with a rotating lineup of anchors taking over the program. Meanwhile, Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street will be renamed FBN’s Wall Street, with Cheryl Casone hosting when the program returns before rotating anchors take over.
The changes suggest that Fox Business is not simply replacing Bartiromo with another permanent host, but is instead reshaping portions of its daytime programming.
Fox News Channel’s Sunday Morning Futures is also set for a change. Jason Chaffetz will host the program on Sunday, Sept. 6, while the network says a new host will be announced at a later date.
Fox Business Network is also planning to introduce a new weekday programming schedule in the coming weeks.

Bartiromo arrived at Fox in 2014 after already establishing herself as a prominent name in financial television.
Before joining Fox Business Network, she became widely known during her years at CNBC, where she hosted programs including Closing Bell and On the Money with Maria Bartiromo.

Another Major Fox Departure
Bartiromo’s exit also comes after several other highly publicized departures involving Fox News personalities.
In 2023, Fox News announced that it had “agreed to part ways” with Tucker Carlson, one of its most recognizable prime-time hosts.
Several years earlier, in 2017, the network cut ties with Bill O’Reilly following sexual harassment allegations, bringing an end to his long-running relationship with Fox.
