Ten years after Cole Swindell poured the grief of losing his father into “You Should Be Here,” the country star has returned to that same emotional territory from a very different place in life.

The timing is especially meaningful. Swindell marked the 10th anniversary of You Should Be Here in May 2026 with a special vinyl edition of the album. The record has surpassed 2 billion global streams, while the title track became his fifth consecutive No. 1 single and spent four weeks atop Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.
“Girl Dad” now adds another chapter to that story.
