Shetland fans will soon see Douglas Henshall at the centre of a very different mystery, as the Scottish actor leads a disturbing new six-part psychological thriller involving dementia, a missing woman and a secret hidden inside a family home.
Forever Home, adapted from Graham Norton’s bestselling 2022 novel, stars Henshall as Robert Barrie, a man living with dementia whose increasingly troubling behaviour begins to alarm his partner Carol.
At first, his determination to remain inside his home could simply be another consequence of his deteriorating condition.
Then Carol discovers his anxiety appears to be focused on something much more specific.
There is a hidden basement in the house.

Glasgow-born Henshall is best known to millions of viewers as DI Jimmy Perez in the BBC crime drama Shetland.
