Kaley Cuoco could barely hold back her tears as fiancé Tom Pelphrey claimed his first Primetime Emmy on Monday night, winning Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in Task.

The emotional moment came at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles during the 2026 Emmy Awards, when Pelphrey took the stage to accept the honor. As he thanked the people closest to him, the camera captured a visibly emotional Cuoco watching from the audience.

Pelphrey ultimately saved some of his most personal words for the end of his speech, turning his attention to his “very pregnant” fiancée.

Pelphrey began his acceptance speech by expressing gratitude for his life and sobriety.

“I thank God for my life and my sobriety,” he said, before thanking his family and friends for supporting him throughout his career, from his Emmy wins to performances in black box theaters and everything in between.

He also acknowledged his HBO executives and his Task costars, including Mark Ruffalo.

“Thank you for this incredible role and this opportunity and your friendship,” Pelphrey said to Ruffalo. “I’m so proud to be your friend.”

But the speech became especially emotional when Pelphrey turned to Cuoco.

“And to my favorite actor in this room. My love, my best friend, my partner,” he said. “The very pregnant Kaley Cuoco.”

The camera then showed Cuoco looking overwhelmed with emotion as she watched her fiancé accept the award.

“I love you more than anything, and our family, the crown jewel of our life,” Pelphrey continued. “Matilda, daddy loves you. Baby girl in that belly, daddy loves you. Thank you, God bless!”

A Major Career Milestone

The victory marked Pelphrey’s first Primetime Emmy statuette.

He was competing in a particularly strong category, alongside Patrick Ball and Shawn Hatosy from The Pitt, Billy Crudup from The Morning Show, Gerran Howell from The Pitt, Jack Lowden from Slow Horses, and Carlos-Manuel Vesga from Pluribus.

Pelphrey had previously been nominated for a guest-starring role in Ozark in 2022.

He also had two Daytime Emmy wins to his name, taking Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series for his work on Guiding Light in 2006 and again in 2008.

His win for Task therefore added a Primetime Emmy to a career that had already earned him recognition on daytime television.

Cuoco and Pelphrey’s Growing Family

Cuoco and Pelphrey began dating in 2022 and became engaged in 2024.

The couple already share a daughter, 3-year-old Matilda, and announced in June that they were expecting their second child together.

At the time, Cuoco shared her excitement on Instagram, acknowledging that the pregnancy journey had been different from the first but saying the family was deeply grateful for the moment.

“Little sissy on the way!!!” she wrote, playfully announcing that their daughter would soon become a big sister.

She also joked about the couple’s sonogram, referring to their unborn baby as their “dainty princess.”

With Pelphrey’s Emmy victory arriving as the couple prepares to welcome another daughter, his acceptance speech became as much a celebration of his career as it was a heartfelt tribute to the family waiting for him at home.
