It’s been exactly two weeks since Prince Harry saw his father in the UK, and I think the homesickness is likely to be kicking in. While The Duke of Sussex has not called Britain home for six years, ever since him and his wife decided to leave royal duty behind and start again in America, his recent trip back to his home country has probably shown him exactly what he’s missing.

And it explains the reports that Harry is not as happy as he seems in the US. Because while he has his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in their Montecito mansion, he doesn’t have all the other family members he is missing. His father is a long-haul flight away. His uncle Charles Spencer is equally as far.

Almost everything he misses is in the UK. And now he’s been to the UK with his wife and children, and seen his father and his uncle, he will remember all that was good about his life in Britain.

And he will figure out what he is missing – the nice blend of his immediate family and his other relatives.

Having both in one place would be priceless for him. And I truly think that having been back in the UK, visiting Highgrove and staying at Althorp, will have planted a seed of homesickness within Harry that can’t be dismissed.

In fact, I think he will miss the UK so much that he will want it to be home again. He will want the best of both worlds – his wife, his children, his father, his uncle… all in the same place.

But let’s be real, Meghan won’t want this. Yes, she will want her husband to be happy, but she never seemed keen on the UK.

Her popularity in the country has also dropped, which has probably eradicated any opportunity of her making a living in her husband’s home country.

She needs America for the Hollywood stardom she is chasing. The UK just won’t give her that.

So for now, Harry will have to stay put in the US and continue his semi-frequent visits back home. Whether this is his forever, who knows?
