Rod Stewart Announces His Final Tour — And His Last Scottish Show Has Been Revealed

Rod Stewart has announced that his upcoming tour will be his last ever rock ’n’ roll tour, meaning the 81-year-old singer has just one more Scottish concert scheduled.

The news came on September 28, when Stewart shared a video on Instagram announcing The Final Encore Tour. Although he stressed that he is not retiring, he said the next tour would mark the end of his touring career.

“Well, here we go… one last time!” Stewart wrote, encouraging fans to join him for “one more round of rock ’n’ roll.”

“I’m Not Retiring”

Stewart made clear that the announcement should not be interpreted as retirement.

In his message to fans, he said: “Ladies and gentleman, after much deliberation and sadness I have to announce next year will be my last ever tour, ever ever.”

He continued: “I’m not retiring but this will be the last rock and roll tour so I want to thank you for everything you’ve given me and hopefully I’ve given you something in return.”

He then added a lighter touch to the emotional announcement, repeatedly striking a piano key while encouraging fans to come and see him on the tour.

The Announcement Comes After Heart Surgery

Stewart’s decision follows a difficult period that recently forced him away from the stage.

The singer underwent heart surgery last month and was required to take at least four weeks away from performing to recover. As a result, several shows in the United States had to be cancelled.

At the time, Stewart said he was “deeply disappointed” about letting fans down.

His wife, Penny Lancaster, had previously reassured fans that he would return “stronger than ever.”

The latest announcement has prompted an outpouring of support from fans, many of whom thanked Stewart for the music and memories he has given them over the years.

For Scottish fans, however, the message now carries an added significance: April 29, 2027, is set to be their final chance to see Rod Stewart perform in Scotland as part of his farewell tour.
