Stranger Things has given fans monsters, nostalgia, and one of TV’s most beloved couples, Nancy Wheeler and Jonathan Byers. Though their relationship ultimately ends in the final season, the duo’s impact stretches far beyond Hawkins.

Their on-screen chemistry seemed to spark something real, as actors Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton famously fell in love after meeting on set, becoming one of Netflix’s most talked-about real-life romances.

However, the phenomenon didn’t stop there. Behind the scenes, the couple’s stunt doubles, Jessica Morgan Hill and Trevor Jenkins, also found love while working on the series and eventually tied the knot.

Meet Nancy And Jonathan’s Stunt Doubles in Stranger Things

While fans fell in love with Nancy Wheeler and Jonathan Byers on screen, Stranger Things also sparked a real-life romance behind the scenes, this time between their stunt doubles. Jessica Morgan Hill joined the Netflix hit in Season 3 as Natalia Dyer’s stunt double, where she met Trevor Jenkins, who stepped in as Charlie Heaton’s stunt double.

Working closely together on set, the two quickly formed a bond that extended beyond the Upside Down. After dating for nearly two years, Hill and Jenkins got married in 2021, turning their on-set partnership into a lifelong one. Reflecting on her journey, Hill shared in an Instagram post,

I started working on Season 3 of Stranger Things as Jessica Hill, and now I am Jessica Jenkins! I met my husband on this set, and some of my favorite people! Some good things happen in Hawkins!

Additionally, Hill appeared to serve as a stand-in for Winona Ryder’s Joyce Byers and Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven as well (Instagram). Meanwhile, Trevor Jenkins had been part of the Stranger Things family even earlier, having worked on Season 2.

“That’s a wrap on season 2! Grateful for my second team family, even those not pictured. I’m going to miss most of you,” he shared in a 2017 Instagram post.

The couple recently celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary with Hill stating in an Instagram post, “4 years married. What a blessing,” followed by a heart emoji.

In a recent Instagram post, Hill also expressed deep gratitude for Stranger Things, noting that it marked a meaningful turning point in her life and brought her lasting relationships that she feels incredibly thankful for.

Are Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton still together?

Despite their Stranger Things characters calling it quits, Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton are still going strong. The pair met in 2015 while filming Season 1 of the Netflix hit, where they played Nancy Wheeler and Jonathan Byers.

Dating rumors began swirling in 2016, and by 2017, the actors had effectively made their relationship official with public appearances and red-carpet moments. The couple has since publicly addressed their relationship.

“It’s been a gift to work with my best friend,” Heaton shared in a 2025 interview with Wonderland magazine. He also reflected on the comfort of sharing the same career anxieties and creative challenges, adding, “To be able to both understand each other on that level is great.”

Dyer has echoed similar sentiments. Speaking to Cosmopolitan in a 2022 interview, she described their relationship as a special bond, noting that their shared experience is “an understanding that would be hard to replicate.”

She also addressed public fascination with their romance, admitting it feels strange at times. “It sounds so cliché, but I’m just a person, too,” she said, emphasizing that not all relationships need to be “red-carpet official.”

“The weirdest thing about [our relationship] is other people’s perception and reaction to it,” she added. However, despite the public opinions and discussions surrounding their relationship, they have remained together.
