Stevie Nicks’ Brother Christopher Nicks Dies at 72 After Private Cancer Battle

Stevie Nicks is mourning the loss of her younger brother and only sibling, Christopher Aaron Nicks, who died at the age of 72 following a private battle with cancer.

Christopher died in the early morning hours of September 4, 2026, surrounded by family. His daughter, Nixi Parkinson Nicks, announced his death on social media, sharing a photograph of herself holding her father’s hand.

“Second star to the right, and straight on till morning,” Nixi wrote. “I love you, daddy. Rest easy.”

She later explained that her father had spent the previous two and a half years privately fighting cancer. Christopher chose not to make his diagnosis public because he did not want the people around him to worry.

In a Facebook post, Nixi reflected on the impact her father had on those who knew him.

“I know that he has left his mark on so many people,” she wrote, adding that his loss would leave “a piece” missing not only from his immediate family but from many others as well. She also remembered how deeply Christopher valued his friends, whom he affectionately called his “lost boys.”

“Rest easy, Coach. We will see you in Neverland,” she wrote.

A life spent largely away from the spotlight

While his sister became one of rock music’s most recognizable figures through her work with Fleetwood Mac and her celebrated solo career, Christopher largely remained outside the public eye.

That did not mean he was distant from Stevie’s musical world. Over the years, he worked behind the scenes on several of her solo tours, including merchandise operations, and also took on the role of introducing his sister onstage. That tradition had previously been carried out by their father, Jess Nicks.

Christopher also appeared in Stevie’s music videos for “Talk to Me” and “I Can’t Wait.” His connection to her music went even further: he received a co-writing credit on “The Nightmare,” a song from Stevie’s 1985 solo album Rock a Little.

The family connection extended into Stevie’s professional circle as well. Christopher’s former wife, Lori Perry-Nicks, was a backup singer for Stevie.

The bond between the siblings had also been publicly acknowledged by Stevie in the past. During a 2018 concert in Phoenix, she dedicated “Landslide” to Christopher, describing him as the brother who always had her back despite whatever disagreements might come between them.

Mick Fleetwood remembers Christopher

Following the news of Christopher’s death, Mick Fleetwood shared a tribute on Instagram, recalling the many memories they shared through Fleetwood Mac.

“The passing of Chris Nicks has brought so many memories of his amazing life,” Fleetwood wrote. He remembered Christopher’s connection to the Fleetwood Mac family and praised his “zest for life,” describing it as a lasting source of inspiration.

“Chris you will be missed by me and I know the family of Fleetwood Mac,” Fleetwood added, ending his message with “Peace and love.”

Stevie Nicks had not publicly addressed her brother’s death as of September 7, 2026.

For a man who spent much of his life away from the spotlight, Christopher Nicks nevertheless left a lasting mark on the people around him—and on the career of the sister he quietly supported for decades.
